"BOSSY"

I’m *bossy* they say -
when I get my way,
they’d rather I keep my hand down.

But I raise up my hand
because I understand
that my voice is a marvelous sound.

*Too assertive* he said,
while he patted my head.
My opinions were cute, but *too much.*

But I didn’t care,
took my skill set elsewhere -
I know chauvinism’s a crutch.

I stand out from a crowd,
and some claim I’m too loud,
but I always ignore what they say.

They can see that I’m strong,
and I’ve known all along,
that they’re wrong about me, anyway.

My body is lovely,
their comments are ugly;
I’ll match criticism with glee.

I’m destined for fame,
and I’ll proudly exclaim,
that I’m *fantastical,* *magical,*
*ME!*
